Quality issues in production can quickly lead to bottlenecks. This was the challenge faced by one of our clients, a smart home manufacturer.

A quality issue prevented 5,000 components from being shipped as planned. Instead, they needed to be inspected, reworked, and repackaged. However, with production areas at full capacity, the client faced an urgent space issue. They lacked the facilities and the manpower to handle the rework process.

To make matters more complex, the reworked parts needed to reach end customers on time to avoid delays and complaints.

FOCUSON stepped in to manage the entire process – from organizing rework space to coordinating logistics – ensuring the supply chain remained uninterrupted, customer satisfaction stayed intact, and the client could stay focused on their core business.

Our priority was to ensure a seamless process for our client, from organizing the rework space to delivering the finished components. By taking care of every detail—logistics, rework, and quality assurance—we enabled the client to stay focused on their core operations while we handled the rest.

Organizing Rework Facilities and Logistics

To solve the client’s space issue, FOCUSON managed every aspect of securing and setting up an external rework facility. This included:

  • Facility organization: Sourcing and preparing the space to meet production requirements.
  • Workflow planning: Coordinating all steps, from initial pickup at the client’s production site to final delivery.

A dedicated team of four specialists reworked 5,000 components within a tight timeframe. Every step of the process adhered to the highest quality standards:

  • Adding missing materials as needed.
