Clearing Incoming Inspection Backlogs Without Disruption—Production Stays On Track

Task

Quality at stake when every millimeter counts.


Due to staff shortages caused by vacation and illness, several hundred inspection lots had accumulated in incoming goods at an industrial customer.

The task was anything but routine: components for industrial applications had to be measured and checked precisely according to drawings and inspection plans. The scope ranged from tiny parts with a volume of just 1 dm³ to large constructions several meters in length and height. Every single dimension specified in the technical drawings had to be verified and documented.

The goal: reduce the backlog quickly and reliably without disrupting ongoing production or jeopardizing delivery deadlines.

For the large components, every specification from complex technical drawings had to be measured and verified with precision. Our goal was not only to clear the backlog but also to ensure that every single part met the customer’s high quality standards. In the end, what matters most is that the customer can rely on us no matter how big, small, or complex the component.

Specialized training
Two colleagues with an automotive background were trained internally on the specific inspection requirements and measuring tools. On site, they worked independently over several months, processing inspection plans, conducting dimensional checks, and documenting all results.

Sustainable relief
The entire backlog was cleared, enabling the customer’s internal team to continue their daily operations without additional workload or delays.
